My Name is Tabetha Landt

I am a teaching artist,

creativity facilitator, and a

certified life coach.

I live, love, and breathe art and creativity - it's my life!
But it wasn’t always that way. In fact, until the age of thirty I would say “I don’t have a creative bone in my body.”

So why did I start painting at age thirty? Well, several roads let me to art, but the biggest one was inheriting my sister's art supplies after her death. I had been interested in art, but somehow painting with her supplies...well, let's just say I painted through my grief. And then I kept painting. For the last 27 years I’ve painted through pain and joy, and now a pandemic. Painting—and my art community— have kept me sane.

I now teach painting and creativity to a thriving online community.

Here's What My Students Say

(Don't just take my word for it!)

I can second the compliments that others have written in their testimonials. I endorse them all, but I have some other thoughts about Tabetha, both professionally and personally.  Personally, I love how joyful Tabetha is about life, her work, and how she brings her joy to classes. She belts out Broadway show tunes, quotes movie lines, entertains us as she teaches. Classes are fun. Not sure if this personal or professional but painting remotely has pluses. Not having to transport canvases, paints, brushes, solvents, etc. is wonderful. All your supplies are within  reach. It spoils you.  Professionally, while many of us curse technology for its imperfections, Tabetha has embraced Zoom as a means  to her teaching end. I have participated in remote classes that were deplorable, and I think her online studio could be a model. The technology is manipulated to provide the best possible learning experience. Participants can ask questions and have instant feedback. You see her painting, mixing paints, demonstrating brush strokes. It is very easy to follow. She offers recordings of and after every class. Check-ins at various points during class allow for participants to get suggestions for improvement, changes if necessary. Her critiques are never critical. They are helpful. Her equipment allows her to suggest those changes on our paintings. Her cursor is better than Harry Potter’s wand. Additionally, if you have never painted elsewhere, you probably don’t appreciate her prices. She provides classes other than painting. She is a bargain!

Tabetha, Thanks so much for all of the inspiration, encouragement, and creative energy that you’ve shared through the years! It has literally changed my life, influenced my path, an d made an artist of me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

About three years ago, I was looking for a way to dig deeper into my creative side. Searching around for artists who could help me, I came upon Tabetha's website. I was immediately drawn to her work, and when I talked to her for the first time, I knew why. Her warmth, kindness, and natural curiosity come through in everything she does, and especially in how she teaches. I love learning from a great artist such as Tabetha, and I appreciate more than I can say how she constantly draws out more of my artistic side/ (which I actually didn't think existed in me before I met her!), which has helped me evolve my creative process and inspires me to try new things and be BOLD about it. Her classes are always filled with good people and great ideas. P.S. her art journaling classes literally helped me survive the pandemic stay-at-home orders. They are the most amazing 90 minutes of my week, and now, I don't know how I managed to go 40 years without art journaling:-)

I have been taking painting classes with Tabetha since Dec. 2020 and can't imagine stopping. Tabetha is a wonderful teacher and offers gentle helpful suggestions when students get stuck or frustrated enabling us to make improvements without any criticism, only encouragement! I appreciate the weekly drop in paint nights between classes. It's a great time to share our work with other students and Tabetha and get input and support and just visit with one another. With the Virtual Art Studio membership, I found more than instructional art classes, I found a community!

Tabetha’s Artist’s Way classes are a deep breath of inspirational air. The community of creatives in these online sessions are proving to be invaluable friends. It’s so much fun to make art with them.

Creative time is really important to me but finding time to make art can sometimes be a real challenge. I love that the Vision Card class gave me the opportunity to focus on my own art weekly and to spend time with others that share my creative interests. Not only did I enjoy journaling about the different dimensions of my life and envisioning how I’d like to experience them in the year ahead, I also came away with a personal deck of cards I can continue to revisit for visioning in the years to come. I can’t say enough good things about Tabetha as a teacher and about the experience she’s designed. So appreciated!
